It is produced in electric arc furnace by controlling smelting process precisely and solidification slowly. The decreased TiO2 content and increased Al2O3 content provide the grains with medium toughness and hardness between white fused alumina and brown fused alumina, this is why it’s called semi-friable fused alumina. It has excellent self-sharpening property, which brings grinding tools made of it with high grinding efficiency, long service life, sharp grinding and not easy to burn workpiece.

Application
It is used for resin and vitrified grinding wheels with high surface finish requirements, widely working on heat sensitive steel, alloy, bearing steel, tool steel, cast iron, various non-ferrous metals and stainless steel. The abrasive tools made of it aredurable, self sharpening and stable. For rough grinding, it can improve the processing efficiency. For precision grinding, it can improve the surface quality of workpiece.

Application
It has special feature of sharpness close to white fused alumina and toughness close to brown fused alumina, which makes coated abrasives made of it both sharp and durable, used for abrasive paper and abrasive cloth, mainly working on heat sensitive metal and alloy, non-ferrous metal, etc. Also, it can be used for grindinging wood, plastic coating, paint, especially for hard wood, the effect is much better.
