Coated abrasives are made by adhering abrasive materials to a flexible backing with adhesives. The main varieties are abrasive cloth (paper) and abrasive belt. They are widely used in the grinding and polishing of metal materials, wood, ceramics, plastics, leather, rubber, paint putty and other non-metallic materials.
Coated abrasives are composed of abrasives, binder and backing. The commonly used abrasives are artificial abrasives such as corundum and silicon carbide, and sometimes natural abrasives such as garnet.
We offer a wide range of abrasive materials, macro- and micro-sized, for all kinds of coated abrasives, as well as the right abrasive for all types of polishing applications.
Abrasives | Characteristic | Application |
• Strong crushing resistance • Oxidation and corrosion resistance | Suitable for grinding metal materials with high tensile strength.
• High brittleness • Low toughness • Strong cutting ability | Suitable for fine grinding of quenched steel, alloy steel, thread and gear.
• High toughness • High strength • Good wear resistance | Suitable for abrasives with high requirements for surface finish.
• High toughness • High strength • Good wear resistance | Suitable for high speed and heavy load polishing.
• Nano scale microstructure • Excellent toughness • Excellent self sharpening | Suitable for all materials which is hard to polish.
• High hardness • High brittleness • Low toughness | Suitable for metal materials and non-metallic alloys with low tensile strength. |
